A 2012 preview…

An unexpected standout for me at bonnaroo last year, I am looking forward to seeing the “Toxic” duo (plus Andrew Wyatt) at Lollapalooza, touring in support of their latest release, Happy to You.  Miike Snow is more than just some hot Swedish producers, or another Hot Chip (which wouldn’t be all bad, don’t get me wrong). Their moody dance music is sonically twisted, dotted with global sounds, percussive beats and some well-phrased lyrics… though, when it comes to vocals, my first listen to “Black Tin Box” was eerily reminiscent of Ween’s Spinal Meningitis.  I don’t know that anyone would think so but me, but it’s just that oddity that makes me interested in these guys.  If you haven’t heard their music, click HERE and take a liisten to The Wave, Devil’s Work, Black Tin Box and Bavarian #1… say you will.
