Democratic National Convention 2024

The 2024 convention aimed to be the most accessible, equitable, and sustainable in party history. Pioneering first-ever environmental initiatives, including a record-breaking food rescue, we demonstrated how large-scale events can consciously acknowledge impacts, rescue food, reduce waste and support local communities, setting new standards in convention sustainability.

Bright Beat and Purpose (BBxP) were honored to be selected together as DNC Sustainability Advisors by the DNCC and Host Committee, and demonstrated the importance of collaboration in advancing sustainability. The team conducted a comprehensive assessment of key venues to identify opportunities for the greatest environmental and social impact, strategically addressing the convention’s largest sources of emissions: Travel, Energy, Sourcing, Food and Waste. The resulting DNC Sustainability Guide and catalogue of educational resources equipped DNC vendors and provided lasting value to venue and event stakeholders across the city.
